Celtic Tradition

The images drawn on this web site are typical of the great Celtic Tradition. The interlacing of knot work and depictions of animals has been in the Celtic Tradition for many centuries.

The elegant design of Celtic knots is one of our most ancient forms of symbolism, originating mainly from Ireland, Scotland and Wales. This form of artwork appeared on stonework, jewellery, and later in manuscripts such as the famous “Book of Kells”.

To this day, the intricate patterns and designs continue to conjure up mystical images for many of us.
